Grace Porter Gafford is a Memphis-based artist known for her playful, thoughtful approach to art. Her creative process is driven by curiosity and a desire to explore, process, and absorb the world around her. Porter Gafford’s work blends vibrant colors with bold designs, producing pieces that add energy and personality to any home.
Since earning her B.A. in Art from Rhodes College in 2015, Porter Gafford has exhibited regionally and was a September 2020 Artist in Residence at Stay Home Gallery and Residency in Paris, TN. She has contributed extensively to the Memphis arts community, assisting artists such as Erin Harmon, Maysey Craddock, Ben Butler, Suzanne Henley, and Betsy Brackin, and working with Anna Wunderlich Art Consultation. She has also supported art education as a teaching assistant at Memphis College of Art’s summer art camp, at Flicker Street Studio, and as Store Manager for the Art Project.
Beyond the studio, Porter Gafford has developed broad experience in retail and nonprofit work, including roles at Paper & Clay, Falling Into Place, Historic Broad Avenue Arts Alliance, City & State, and Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, where she oversaw retail operations, volunteer programming, and administrative management.
Porter Gafford lives in Memphis, TN with her husband and continues to work from her home studio, creating art that engages, delights, and transforms everyday spaces.
